Even now, as interest rates dissapear altogether and people fire up thier money printing machines, I am going to make a contrversial prediction - there is no way we can avoid deflation. I know I go on and on about this one, but so much money was created in the bubble that the fed cannot print money fast enough to reflate to the same extent. Get used to deflation.
My predictions for 2009? Same as usual
1. 2009 will be so bad that we will wish for 2008
2. Everyone will understand what deflation really means
3. We have nothing to fear but unemployment itself
4. 10 buck oil (btw, I was predicting this when oil was at 150)
5. UK house prices will take another hefty step on thier way to 50% from top to bottom. The half price sale is coming!

I'd rather be in Japan right now than in Britain. Will we start on the long road back to a pre-service industry, pre-consumerist society? Hopefully we won't revert to a pre-industrial society.
My predictions for 2009:
1. Fried food back in fashion (again!)
2. Cod war hots up
3. Whigfield 'rocks out'
4. No change in dog license policy
5. George Foreman grills used primarily as sandwich toasters
